Access Statement

The Guildhall Tavern Hotel & Restaurant underwent a total refurbishment during 2009/10 transforming it into the venue that it is today. We are fully committed to assisting all guests who wish to use our facilities and will do all that is reasonably possible to accommodate those with impairments. We do ask that you notify us at the time of booking if you require assistance during your stay or simply have a special request that would make your visit more comfortable.

The building is several hundred years old, and is grade 2* listed which does present some obstacles to us making it 100% accessible to our guests.

We have ensured that all ground floor areas of the premises are easily accessible for the less mobile and the recent renovation has added a rear reception area with wheelchair access into the building by way of a wide passageway to the Bar / Restaurant area. A sign has been erected above the car park entrance to highlight this disabled access point. Our car parking area is limited, and therefore we have reserved 2 spaces adjacent to reception for the sole use of our disabled guests.

Our disabled toilet is located on ground floor level and has been purpose built.

Due to the nature of the building, none of the hotel bedrooms are serviced by a lift. We have 5 rooms at first floor level and 6 rooms at second floor level. Staff will be happy to assist guests who have restricted mobility access the rooms at first floor level. This is by way of a 16 steps (in 2 stages). There is always a member of staff on hand to assist with luggage and every room has a telephone that can be used to contact reception 24 hours a day.

The Chefs are always happy to cater for guests with special dietary requirements. Please advise us at the time of booking.

We understand that impairments may not be obvious and recognition has been given to include guests with any impairment, which could include mobility, sight, hearing, learning disabilities or any other hidden impairment.
